Writhing Souls

Writhing heap of souls
Holed up in a dungeon
Time-melting void
Penetrating, lacerating

To beyond the tomb
To the silent passageways of darkness
From the vicious womb
To the virgin never-ending nightmare

Is there light beyond
Underneath the heavy ground
Only the flesh’s afraid of death
And rebirth is for the soul
